EDEN
Eden is the name of the garden that God gave to Adam and Eve in the beginning.
We called it paradise, because, the area of the garden, was a collection of beautiful nature.
However, that is not the meaning of the name : Eden.
The garden of Eden, in Yoruba, is written and pronounced : ọgba edẹni /hor gbar ei del nie/.
Edẹni is a two syllables word. E/dẹ/ni.
When the words of these syllables are stress, they sound like : Yoruba-Igbomina dialect : Ee dẹẹ nii.
Ee dẹẹ nii, in, Yoruba-Igbomina dialect simply mean : something that gives comfort.
Ogba Edẹni or the garden of Eden, therefore, meant : the garden that gives comfort.
