The name Adeṣina or Adetiṣina is a Yoruba Royal name and it's often misspelled : Adeshina and Adetishina.
Nevertheless, the meaning of the name is : the crown opened the doors and gateways.
The name is the short name for the following names :

She was born in South Africa, but, she was not allowed to be Miss Universe South Africa, because, of her Nigerian origin.
However, she came to Nigeria and she became Miss Universe Nigeria.
At the Miss Universe contest in Mexico, she became the first runner up and she was crown : Miss Universe Africa and Oceania.
